Welcome to WoK User Documentation¶
What you will find here¶
This is the official documentation of the CC-IN2P3 WoK Platform.
WoK stands for Web on Kubernetes and is a platform dedicated to hosting web applications and services for CC-IN2P3 and its users.
This documentation tries to give its users, web developers and service admins, a good understanding of how to efficiently use the WoK platform and as such it only deals with WoK platform specifics.
Under the hood: Kubernetes and Openshift¶
The WoK platform leverages Openshift Origin Kubernetes Distribution (OKD) under the hood in order to orchestrate containers. Openshift OKD is a Kubernetes distribution that stems from the RedHat product Openshift Container Platform (OCP). This is a full fledged Kubernetes distribution with production readiness in mind.
Note
More general Kubernetes or Openshift questions will likely not find an answer here, within this documentation.
As Kubernetes/Openshift are the main building block of the WoK platform, elements of these technologies are often mentionned and used throughout theses pages. Links to the official and relevant Kubernetes and OKD documentations will be given when necessary.
